So one of the best things about living on Cape Cod is how easy it is to get to Boston! Earlier I posted an idea for a day trip to Boston, here's another one:
Very soon the tulips will be blooming in the Public Garden - this is a "must see"! Drive up Route 3 to the subway (either Braintree or Quincy) and go inbound on the T to South Station. Go out of South Station and follow the Rose Kennedy Parkway all the way to Columbus Park near the North End, it will only take about 15 minutes depending on how fast you walk, take a rest on a bench and enjoy the waterfront. Then walk through Faneuil Hall and grab a bite to eat (or go to one of the fabulous restaurants nearby like Joes which you'll see in Columbus Park on the water or Legal Seafood next to the aquarium). Follow the Freedon Trail (brick path) out the other side and up past the Old State House (beautiful building) and through Downtown Crossing to the Common. Go through the Common to the Public Garden (if you don't know which direction to go ask someone walking a dog or someone else that looks like a local, they can point you in the right direction), enjoy the beautiful trees, plantings and TULIPS! There are benches in the Common and the Park to take a rest.
